Sergio Arias (born February 27, 1988 in Los Mochis , Sinaloa ), also known by the nickname El Mochis after his birthplace , is a Mexican football player in the position of goalkeeper .

career

"El Mochis" Arias began his football career in the youth department of Club Deportivo Guadalajara , where he also received his first professional contract. However, Arias has not played in the first team to date, only in its farm teams or other clubs in the second division .

Arias celebrated his greatest success so far with the junior national team of Mexico , with which he won the Junior World Championship in 2005 . "El Mochis" guarded the goal in all six games of the Mexicans and went four times without conceding a goal. Only in the last group game against Turkey (1: 2) and in the quarter-finals against Costa Rica (3: 1 a.s. ) Arias had to hit three times.

"Mochis" recorded its greatest success at club level in the 2013/14 season with the Alebrijes de Oaxaca . On the one hand, he reached the semifinals in both semi -finals . In addition, the Alebrijes completed the Apertura 2013 as Superlíder and qualified in the Clausura 2014 for the final of the Mexican cup competition . This was lost 0: 3 against the first division UANL Tigres . Arias was not in goal in this defeat, but only played in the cup game played on March 11, 2014 against his current club Lobos de la BUAP (4-0).
