Servet kocakaya

Servet Kocakaya (born May 19, 1973 in Bingöl ) is a Zaza singer from Turkey.

His father's family is from Cizre . Kocakaya himself was born in Bingöl. His family was forcibly moved from Bingöl via Çukurova and Hatay to Mersin , where he attended school up to high school. After finishing school, he studied engineering at Hacettepe University in Ankara .

In Ankara he began to deal professionally with music. Servet Kocakaya was very interested in western music and groups like Pink Floyd . In his first album Keke he mixed this style with the traditional bard music of Anatolia. He was influenced by artists such as Neşet Ertaş , Aşık Veysel , Mahzuni Şerif , Fatih Erkoç , Kayahan and Zülfü Livaneli . Most of his music is in Turkish . His last album Pencere , however, also contained two Kurdish songs. Nevertheless, he also used Kurdish titles for his songs like Keke and Ki Zava? . The songs on his albums are entirely his own works.
