The Seville Spanish Open 2003 took place from June 24-29, 2003 in Seville , Spain . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2002/03 and belonged to Category 4 Star . It was endowed with US $ 45,000 in prize money.
The tournament winner was Amr Shabana , who had started the tournament unset. In the first round he defeated Anthony Ricketts , who was in second place, and then Mohd Azlan Iskandar and Ong Beng Hee . In the final, he met third-placed Karim Darwish , whom he defeated after an hour and 24 minutes with 15:13, 13:15, 15:14, 8:15 and 15:13.
The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which were reserved for qualifiers. The eight best players were seeded. Per Wildcard received Borja Golán a spot in the main draw.
