The Severnaya Mylwa ( Russian Се́верная Мы́лва , "Northern Mylwa") is a left tributary of the Pechora in the Komi Republic in northwestern Russia .
The Severnaya Mylwa rises in the extreme southeast of the Timan Ridge on the watershed to the river system of the Northern Dvina . It first flows a short distance east and then turns north. It meanders strongly in the lower reaches. 14 km above its mouth, the Severnaya Mylwa takes its largest tributary, the Soiwa , on the left. At the administrative center of Troitsko-Pechorsk , the Severnaya Mylwa flows into the Pechora from the left.
The Severnaya Mylwa has a length of 213 km. It drains an area of 5970 km². The river is ice-covered between October / November and the end of April / May. The mean discharge (MQ) at the Jagtydin gauge , 20 km above the mouth, is 29.5 m³ / s.
