Severyniwka ( Ukrainian Северинівка ; Russian Севериновка Severinovka ) is a village in the south of the Ukrainian Oblast of Kiev with about 900 inhabitants (2004).
The village, first mentioned in 1765, is the administrative center of the 42.671 km² district council in the west of Tarashcha Rajon , to which the village of Krasjuky (ukr. Красюки ⊙ ) with about 80 inhabitants belongs to the northeast of Severynivka .
Severynivka is located in the Dnieper highlands at 204 m altitude on the T – 10–17 territorial road, 20 km west of Tarashcha Rajon center and about 120 km south of the capital Kiev .
Personalities
Ukrainian-South African biologist, embryologist and entomologist Boris Balinsky spent his childhood summers with his local maternal grandfather, a priest who was later executed by the NKVD .
