Severyniwka ( Ukrainian Северинівка ; Russian Севериновка Severinovka ) is a village in the south of the Ukrainian Oblast of Kiev with about 900 inhabitants (2004).

Village church

The village, first mentioned in 1765, is the administrative center of the 42.671 km² district council in the west of Tarashcha Rajon , to which the village of Krasjuky (ukr. Красюки ) with about 80 inhabitants belongs to the northeast of Severynivka .

Severynivka is located in the Dnieper highlands at 204  m altitude on the T – 10–17 territorial road, 20 km west of Tarashcha Rajon center and about 120 km south of the capital Kiev .

Personalities

Ukrainian-South African biologist, embryologist and entomologist Boris Balinsky spent his childhood summers with his local maternal grandfather, a priest who was later executed by the NKVD .
