Shaun Baker
Shaun Baker is a DJ from northern England who settled in Germany in the mid-1980s and has been playing in clubs since 1986.
Career
Musical beginnings & first successes
He started his career as a DJ in smaller clubs. From 1998-2000 Shaun Baker was resident DJ in what was then the large discotheque A30 in Ibbenbüren. He became known very quickly and began to write his own songs early on, which made him known worldwide. Over time, he regularly spins in clubs, scattered across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Great Britain, Poland and the Netherlands.
He made his breakthrough in 2002 with the club hit Explode , which was represented in a version of the Jordan & Baker project in the German sales charts. Explode was composed and produced by DJ Bonito (now part of Darius & Finlay ) and Claudio Macalvo in a recording studio in Austria. Explode reached number 61 in the German single charts.
2005: musical breakthrough
Since 2005 he has been working with Sebastian Wolter as a producer. With him he had his greatest success to date, Xplode 2 , which was number one in almost all annual dance charts in 2005 and reached the top 40 in the sales charts. In the summer of 2006, the single Bakerman , a cover of the laid-back classic, was released. For this purpose, the original music video from 1989 was reworked, showing Laid Back playing her instruments during a parachute jump . The director of the video is Lars von Trier . Bakerman managed to top all dance charts again and reached number 39 in the German sales charts.
The next single, VIP , was released in February 2007 and was in the top 30 of all German download charts. In Poland and the Czech Republic, VIP was number 1 in the sales and radio charts for many weeks and topped the 2007 annual charts in both countries. In the same year he founded the label Uptunes with his producer Sebastian Wolter , which, according to the homepage, specializes in dance music. The next Shaun Baker publication, Power , appeared on Uptunes in October 2007 , with which he said he wanted to meet the great demand for a vocal version of the Xplode style he had influenced. Power was number 1 in various dance charts in Germany and for a long time led the German download charts in the field of dance. According to Uptunes , he is currently preparing the next album, which will initially be released in Poland and the Czech Republic and later worldwide.
2008: number one with Hey Hi Hello
The next single was called Hey Hi Hello and was the follow up to VIP The Hamburg DJ and producer Alex Christensen contributed a remix to Hey Hi Hello . Hey Hi Hello won the prestigious Sopot Hit Festival in Poland and was number 1 on the Polish radio and sales charts for six weeks. Hey Hi Hello also achieved first place in the Czech Republic . This was followed by album 1 , which got gold status in both countries in the first few weeks after its release . The album also includes the song Could You, Would You, Should You , which was released in Germany on November 28, 2008 under Maloy. It is based on the originally instrumental film music by the composer Karel Svoboda from the German-Czech fairy tale film Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella .
In 2009 the single Sunshine was released in 2009 . It is a remake of the 2000 hit Sunshine , the Dance Nation . This single was also able to enter the dance charts again and also reached the German single charts. The remix could not achieve any placements in Austria, Switzerland or similar countries.
At the end of April 2010, Shows Mir 10 (Explode 3) was published. Another remake of the classic "Explode theme". However, this is the first vocal version. This time Darius & Finlay and Danzel worked on the English version and the Seaside Clubbers on the German version. This song was also in the sales charts and it was one of the official World Cup final songs.
2013: Project - DF&S
In May 2013, they started the DF&S project together with Darius & Finlay . The title DF&S is made up of the names D arius, F inlay & S haun Baker. The project's first single is called Bang Bang (Explode) , which they recorded with singer Ceresia and rapper Ron Carrol. This is now the fourth part of the "Explode Publications". After just a few hours, the title was able to climb into the top 40 of the German iTunes charts. It also entered the official single charts.
In the same year another vocal version of the song Explode appeared with Exploding Rhythm . Singer and rapper Yan Dollar worked here. In the following year Baker released the song Heaven & Hell in collaboration with Mike Candys and Evelyn , the synthesis and melody of which are also based on Explode .
