action

It tells the story of an unusual friendship between the well-behaved Momoko Ryūgasaki, played by Kyōko Fukada , and the daredevil Ichigo Shirayuri ( Anna Tsuchiya ). The story takes place in the small town of Shimotsuma , Ibaraki and opens with the fact that the seventeen-year-old high school student Momoko in a ruffled dress in Lolita look collides with a van on a moped and is thrown through the air.

In these moments, Momoko's life is revived: Momoko would have loved to have been born in the Rococo era in France and lives deep in her childlike fantasy world of frills and pink. Her fashion is enough for her in her life, she is not emotionally attached to her environment. This consists of life with her senile grandmother in the provincial town of Shimotsuma, after her father, a small-town gangster and former yakuza , made his living by plagiarizing clothes with the Versace and Universal Studios logos and had to flee from charges. Her motto is that you have to walk through life alone, and that mainly provides for a pink tangle of ruffles and bows, but no animated objects.

Ichigo, who gave herself the not so childish-sounding name Ichiko , belongs to a girl motorcycle gang ( Bōsōzoku ) who repeatedly attracts attention through fights in public. With a decidedly cool and masculine demeanor, she strolls through the area with her pink motorcycle, earning respect.

When Momoko begins to sell her father's fake clothes on the Internet, the paths of the two anti-social girls cross. From then on, Ichigo visits Momoko's house almost every day to buy new clothes for himself and the gang. Only an unusual trip to Tokyo , on which one visits the store of her favorite brand and the other wants to find a legendary embroiderer for gangster bride coats, brings the two girls closer together. Because the embroiderer could not be found, Momoko, to her own surprise, offered someone else a favor for the first time in her life and embroidered Ichigo the desired lettering on the coat.

When the motorcycle gang learns that Ichigo is neglecting the gang's activities in favor of Momoko, the members banish the girl from their community by giving her a ritual challenge to punish her. In an insane operation, Momoko saves her friend from this situation at the last moment and the two move away.

The life of the two seems to have only positive things in store: the head designer of Momoko's favorite fashion chain, Baby, the Stars Shine Bright , is enthusiastic about her art of embroidery and offers the high school student a part-time job. Ichigo becomes a sought-after model for posters, although she hates Lolita fashion. But both are skeptical of this rapid development, so that both quit their jobs and decide to continue to see what life can offer them.
