Shin Hyung-jun (born August 29, 1990 ) is a South Korean ice hockey player who has been playing in the Asia League Ice Hockey for High1 since 2016 .
Career
Shin Hyung-jun began his career as a hockey player on the Kyungsung High School team. He later played for the teams at Gyeongseong High School and Korea University . In 2012 he moved to Japan for Nippon Paper Cranes , for which he was on the ice for two years in the Asia League Ice Hockey . He won the Asia League in 2014 with the Paper Cranes. He then moved back to South Korea, where he also played for Daemyung Sangmu in the Asia League for two years . He has been playing for league competitor High1 since 2016 .
International
For South Korea, Shin Hyung-jun already took part in the U18 World Championships in 2007 and 2008 as well as the U20 World Cup in 2010 in Division II.
He made his debut in the senior national team of the Asian country in the 2012/13 season. It took two years longer until his first World Cup participation in 2015 , when he and the South Koreans were promoted from the B to the A group of Division I. There he played at the World Championships in 2016 and 2017 . In addition, he and his team won the silver medal behind Kazakhstan at the Winter Asian Games 2017 .
