Gurbhakot ( Nepali गुर्भाकोट ) is a city ( municipality ) in western Nepal in the Surkhet district .

The city was named Shubhaghat Gangamala in 2015 by amalgamating the Village Development Committees (VDCs) Dahachaur , Ghumkhahare , Gumi and Mehelkuna . In 2017, as part of a nationwide restructuring, further VDCs were incorporated and the city was given its current name .

The city administration is located in Dahachaur. Gurbhakot is located in the Inner Terai on the bank of the Bheri River .

Residents

At the 2011 census, the VDCs that made up the city of Shubhaghat Gangamala had a population of 24,339.
