Career

Sports background / beginnings

Eudy had actually seen his sporting future in football until one day he happened upon Randy Savage . Savage saw great potential in Eudy and introduced him to wrestling .

Eudy began his career as a masked Lord Humongous in NWA Alabama and Memphis with the Continental Wrestling Association in the late 1980s .

World Championship Wrestling / World Wrestling Federation

In 1989, after the closure of the CWA Memphis, Eudy committed to the then promotion NWA World Championship Wrestling , where he got a partner with Dan Spivey. Both formed the tag team "The Skyscrapers". Eudy first used the gimmick name Sid Vicious here . However, he suffered a back injury and was out for some time. Mean Mark Callous replaced Eudy in the tag team .

In 1990 Eudy returned and now appeared on the side of the NWA / WCW stable The Four Horsemen . At the WCW major event Halloween Havoc 1990 he received a title match against the then WCW champion Sting , which Eudy was not allowed to win.

In 1991 Eudy signed up to what was then the World Wrestling Federation . He made his debut at SummerSlam 1991 as Sid Justice when he was allowed to play the guest referee in the main match of the event. Following the Summerslam, he dominated as Face a brief feud against Undertaker, then acting as the villain .

In 1992, a gimmick change was carried out at Eudy , where he was now given the role of a mad psychopath and feuded against Hulk Hogan . Due to the steroid scandal in the WWF, it was later only used in the middle combat map.

World Championship Wrestling / United States Wrestling Association

From 1993 Eudy worked for World Championship Wrestling , where he only appeared for barely a year.

In 1994 Eudy left WCW and appeared in local independent leagues. In 1995 he joined the United States Wrestling Association , where he was also allowed to hold the Unified Heavyweight Champion and the Texas Heavyweight Champion title.

World Wrestling Federation / Extreme Championship Wrestling

Eudy returned to WWF in 1995. Shortly before Wrestlemania XI , he made his debut alongside Shawn Michaels as his "bodyguard" Psycho Sid .

In 1996 Eudy was allowed to win the WWF World Heavyweight Champion title from Shawn Michaels for the first time , and in 1997 a second time against Bret Hart . After losing his second title at Wrestlemania XIII against Undertaker, Eudy left the WWF again and took a break.

In 1999 Eudy returned to active wrestling after a break. He joined the hardcore promotion Extreme Championship Wrestling . There he was involved in a short feud program against Sabu . But after just four months he left the ECW for the WCW.

World Championship Wrestling / Independent

Eudy appeared in the WCW as Millennium Man and was allowed to win the WCW World Heavyweight title twice in this promotion in addition to the US Champion title . In 2000 he played a role in the film Ready To Rumble, along with various other WCW activists .

In 2001, Eudy was seriously injured in a 2001 match at WCW Sin against Scott Steiner , Road Warrior Animal and Jeff Jarrett . After jumping from the second ring rope, his left lower leg buckled almost horizontally when it hit the mat. This resulted in a multiple splinter fracture, with the lower leg being held only by tendons and the boot. That was the end of Eudy's career, according to general opinion.

In 2004, however, Pierre Ouellette announced that he would compete with an unknown partner in a Battle Royal for the IWS tag team title. Oullette kept his partner's name a secret until the day of the event, June 12, 2004. When Oullette then left the backstage area and made her way to the ring, none other than Eudy appeared behind him. Three years after his serious injury, he celebrated a highly regarded return, with the team Oullette-Eudy succeeded in claiming the title.

25 June 2012 returned Eudy after 15 years in the WWE back and completed on RAW a match against Heath Slater . Another appearance followed on July 23 of the same year on the 1,000th episode of Monday Night RAW.

Backstage problems

Eudy stumbled upon various backstage arguments at the beginning of his career. The reason for this was always Eudy's difficult-to-control temperament. Two of the most famous incidents:

In the fall of 1991 Eudy had a tangible argument with Brian Pillman , in which the much smaller and lighter Pillman brought him into trouble with his martial arts techniques. Eudy, a passionate softball player, was furious and picked up the softball bat to hit Pillman with. It was only when other wrestlers present began to laugh at him that Eudy let go of his opponent. The softball jokes still haunt this today.

The well-known "Vicious Anderson Brawl" ended much more seriously. In October 1993 there was an argument between WCW wrestlers Eudy and Arn Anderson . Anderson and Eudy had to be hospitalized after a scissor stabbing that left Anderson 20 cuts and Eudy also had numerous wounds to be tended. The case could not be clarified exactly until today, as the two wrestlers involved were absolutely silent. A little later, Eudy was dismissed from the WCW, which was all the more bitter for him, since he was traded as the next WCW champion. He only returned to the WCW in 1999.
