Siegfried Baur

Siegfried Baur (born April 24, 1943 in Wels ) is an Italian educational scientist from South Tyrol .

Life

Baur was born as a child of South Tyrolean Optanten in Upper Austria . In 1961 he passed the teaching qualification test at the teacher training college in Merano . Until 1969 he worked as a teacher at various elementary schools . At the same time he studied pedagogy and psychology at the University of Innsbruck from 1962 to 1964 , and from 1964 to 1969 at the University of Urbino pedagogy. After graduating from Urbino in 1969, he worked as a middle school and high school teacher . From 1972 to 1982 he was primary school director in Sarnthein and Bozen . From 1982 to 1985 he worked as a school clerk at the Italian Consulate General in Munich . In the years from 1985 until his retirement in 1992 he took over the post of school inspector in the South Tyrolean provincial administration.

From 1994 to 2003 Baur worked as a contract lecturer at the University of Klagenfurt , where he completed his habilitation in 2000 . In 2004 and 2005 he took on a visiting professorship at the same university . At the same time he was also a contract lecturer from 2001 to 2006 at the Free University of Bozen and from 2003 to 2005 at the University of Innsbruck. From 2006 until his age-related retirement in 2014, he held a professorship for general pedagogy and social pedagogy at the Faculty of Educational Sciences at the Free University of Bozen in Bressanone . Baur lives with his family in Bolzano.
