Siegfried Grotherr

Siegfried Grotherr (* 1958 in Bad Segeberg ) is a German business economist , tax advisor (StB) and professor of business administration (BWL). He holds the chair for business taxation at the Institute for Auditing and Taxation at the University of Hamburg .

Life

Siegfried Grotherr completed his Abitur in 1978 at the business school in Bad Segeberg. From 1978 to 1980 he did military service. From 1980 to 1983 Grotherr completed a degree in business administration at the University of Hamburg, where he obtained a degree in business administration (Dipl.-Kfm.). From 1983 to 1986 Grotherr was employed as a research assistant at the Institute for Foreign and International Finance and Taxation (IIFS) at the University of Hamburg. From 1986 to 1987 he was an audit assistant at an auditing company . In 1987 he obtained his doctorate as Dr. rer. pole.

From 1987 to 1993 Siegfried Grotherr was employed as a university assistant at the IIFS at the University of Hamburg. In 1988 he passed the tax advisor examination. From 1994 to 1995 he was a freelancer in an auditing and tax consulting company. In 1995, Grotherr obtained his habilitation and license to teach business administration from the economics department at the University of Hamburg. From 1995 to 1999 he was a university professor for business administration, in particular business taxation, at the University of Essen .

Since April 1, 1999, Siegfried Grotherr has been a university professor for business administration, especially business taxation, at the University of Hamburg.

Research priorities

His main research interests are international tax planning for corporations , tax planning for international restructuring measures, tax planning for cross-border company acquisitions , German foreign tax law, double taxation law (DTA) and tax consultancy.
