Siegfried Priewe

Siegfried Priewe (born September 16, 1913 in Danzig ; † June 20, 1995 in Stralsund ) was a German politician and Lord Mayor of the city of Stralsund.

Priewe worked as a worker in Danzig until November 1941, interrupted by a long period of unemployment from 1932 to 1935. From December 1941 to May 1945 he did his military service. After the expulsion, he worked as a worker again before moving to civil service in 1950. From 1955 Priewe, who belonged to the SED , studied at the technical college and continued his studies in evening classes.

In July 1962, the mayor of Stralsund, Bruno Motczinski , was relieved of his function by the Stralsund district leadership of the SED . On March 14, 1963, Priewe, who until then had been an employee of the SED district leadership in Rostock, was elected the new mayor by the city council and held this office until November 1965.
