Heinz Readers

Heinz Readers (born August 24, 1919 in Stettin ; † June 11, 2011 in Teterow ) was a German teacher and politician ( SED ). He was Lord Mayor of Stralsund from 1965 to 1971 .

Life

After attending school, Heinzlesener worked as an intern from March 1936, before he began a technical college course in April 1938, which he broke off in February 1940 in order to begin his military service in the Wehrmacht . He remained a soldier until May 1945.

After his expulsion, he continued his technical school education in September 1945 and completed it in August 1946. He qualified as a mechanical engineer and completed a teacher and law degree in Greifswald and Potsdam and joined the SED. Readers was a school councilor in Löcknitz and district chairman of the teaching and education union in Rostock and from 1959 in the civil service. He was chairman of the Wismar district council until 1965.

On November 4, 1965, he became Lord Mayor of the city of Stralsund and remained so until April 19, 1971. On that day, he was recalled from the office of Lord Mayor by the city council.
