Siegfried Rauch (motor journalist)
Siegfried Rauch (born February 10, 1906 in Chemnitz ; † 1997 ) was a German motor journalist and author specializing in motorcycle technology .
Live and act
After developing a number of specialist books on car and truck technology as well as several technical instructions produced for industry, his main focus shifted more and more to motorcycle technology after 1945. In the second half of the 1950s he moved from East Germany - where he was technical director and chief engineer in VEB research and development work of Karl-Marx-Stadt - in the Federal Republic and was 1958/1959 editor in Stuttgart appearing popular magazine "The bike ". He held this position until 1976, the magazine is now called "Motorrad" . Before 1945 he was the customer service manager at DKW.
During this time and afterwards he wrote many books on bicycle , moped , scooter and motorcycle technology and also worked on brand-specific titles. This also includes a work on a car model, namely the BMW 700 .
His son Volker Rauch published a number of yearbooks on motorcycle world championships and some of them also provided photos.
