Siegfried Ringler

Siegfried Ringler (* 1943 ) is a German teacher, Germanist and author.

Life

Ringler studied German , ethnology , Latin and history at the Universities of Würzburg , Freiburg and Munich and was awarded a doctorate in 1976 in Würzburg. phil. PhD . From 1973 until his retirement in 2006, Ringler was a high school teacher, first in Velbert , then in Essen .

Ringler works on the life and revelation literature in women's monasteries in the Middle Ages , on the literature of legends and on mysticism , especially women's mysticism . He belongs to the mystic commission of the diocese of Magdeburg . In 2001 he published the translated Exercitia spiritualia ( Spiritual Exercises ) by Gertrud von Helfta in Latin and German. He also wrote various articles on the subject in the author's dictionary .
