Athletic career
Siegfried Wachtel played for four sports communities or sports clubs in the upper league : BSG activist Brieske-Ost , ASK Vorwärts Berlin SC Wismut Karl-Marx-Stadt and BSG Wismut Aue . In the seasons from 1951/52 to 1966/67 he scored 65 hits in 240 games in the top division of the GDR . In the 1951/52 season, the attacker made his debut with activist Brieske-Ost on the side of teammates such as Horst Franke , Werner Weist and Hermann Fischer in the league.
In the 1954/55 season he was active for both teams in the soccer section of the SC DHfK Leipzig in the second-class league , which was dissolved in January 1955. Wachtel was one of those players who then ran for the Berlin forward team. In the course of the top division season in 1960 , which was last held in the rhythm of the calendar year , Wachtel moved from East Berlin from the army eleven, which was later crowned champions, to the Wismut sports association. There he first played for SC Wismut Karl-Marx-Stadt and, after its dissolution, for BSG Wismut Aue.
