The type 161 is equipped with ten units built one of the most successful Schwergutfrachtschiffstypen the Sietas in Neuenfelde . The successor to this series is the Type 176 .

history

The Wilma (Type 161)

The series was created from 1997 to 2004 in ten units: four ships of the basic type 161, four of the sub-type 161a and two of the sub-type 161b. All ships of the series were ordered by the brothers Hans and Claus Heinrich for the Steinkirchen shipping company Schiffahrtkontor Altes Land . They are mainly used in global heavy lift and project transport.

In September 2001 the Grietje crossed a reef off the Malaysian coast and was severely damaged. After a temporary repair in Singapore , the ship was transferred to the Sietas shipyard, where it arrived on January 9, 2002. Around 180 tons of steel were used to repair the damage to the ground, which was the largest hull repair at the Sietas shipyard until then.

The Annette (Type 161b)

The ships in the series are powered by a MAN 9L48 / 60 diesel engine that acts on a controllable pitch propeller .

The hulls were assembled in sectional construction. In the case of the Type 161b, the superstructures were all merged on the starboard side in order to achieve more deck area and to facilitate handling work.

The 82.90 meter long and 15.80 meter wide box-shaped cargo hold with a volume of 12,800 m³ is reinforced for the transport of containers and heavy goods and has numerous movable bulkheads that can also be used as an intermediate deck at three different heights can. Hatch covers reinforced with heavy cargo were used.

All ships were delivered with three cranes from the Neuenfelder Maschinenfabrik . The series is divided into the individual ship types 161, 161a and 161b, their lifting capacity, in the basic version 161 twice 275 tons and once 150 tons, in the version 161a twice 320 tons and once 200 tons and in the version 161b twice 350 tons and once includes 250 tons. In the coupled loading and unloading operation, total loads of 550 tons are possible for the 161 type, 640 tons for the 161a and up to 700 tons for the 161b type. All three cranes of the 161b type can also be driven on top.
