extended variant

The type F is a coaster type of Sietas in Neuenfelde . From 1956 to 1957 four ships of this series were built.

history

The Hannes Fesefeldt (left) in March 1974 at Gebr. Friedrich-Werft in Kiel

The coaster type was ordered by four shipping companies in the mid-1950s. The type designation is derived from the name of the Hannes F esefeldt , which was the last ship in the series to be delivered, but was the first to be ordered. Initially, the ships were mainly used in small and medium-sized voyages . The Magda Wegener was sold to an Iranian shipping company in 1974 and renamed Mariam Karoon . In the same year a Greek shipowner acquired the Ilse Feldtmann and then used it as Ilse in the Mediterranean . The partners (formerly Gerd Frese ) were transferred to the Caribbean in 1996 , where they were initially registered with their home port of Kingstown in St. Vincent .

technology

The type F was based on the type HG and, like this, had two holds . Due to the largely unobstructed shape of the cargo holds with little undercutting , this type of ship was also used in cellulose or wooden parcel shipping. It had a continuous double floor with a level tank top. Simple wooden hatch covers with a sea-proof tarpaulin cover were used. As standard, the ships had three cargo booms with a load capacity of two tons. They were powered by a four-stroke diesel engine from the manufacturer Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz (KHD), which acted on a fixed propeller. The engines were throttled to 300 hp.

The ships of the series had a total length of 51.06 m (45.00 m Lpp , 47.60 m measurement length ) and a width of 8.94 m. The Thea Nagel (formerly Gerd Frese ) was extended to 58.76 m Lüa in 1976 and re- measured with 499 GRT and 800 tdw . Another measurement of the ship with 570 GRT and 856 tdw took place in 1996.
