The Sigmund Freud Lecture has been held almost every year since 1970 on May 6th, Freud's birthday, in Vienna , the place of origin of psychoanalysis .

The annual Freud Lecture is organized by the Sigmund Freud Private Foundation , which also houses the Sigmund Freud Museum in Vienna IX. carries and gestures.
