The GDR Footballer of the Year was awarded the Silver Football Boot 1975 for the 13th time . The editors of the magazine Die neue Fußballwoche had carried out a survey to choose the best player of the 1974/75 season , in which a total of 48 GDR sports editors participated and the six best footballers with points (ten points for the favorite, for the others Places in descending order seven, five, three, two and one point). The highest total number of points was achieved by Jürgen Pommerenke , who was presented with the silver football boot as Footballer of the Year on August 23, 1975 before the season opened in Magdeburg .
