Silvio Demuth

Silvio Demuth (born May 22, 1963 in Magdeburg ) was a soccer player in the area of ​​the GDR soccer association and the DFB . For the BSG Stahl Brandenburg and the BSV Stahl Brandenburg he played in the GDR Oberliga and in the 2nd Bundesliga .

Athletic career

For the football season 1981/82 Silvio Demuth was nominated as a defender for the first time for the junior league team of 1. FC Magdeburg . After his school education, he completed an apprenticeship as a foundry worker. Demuth never made it into the first men's team of the FCM, so he moved in July 1984 together with his club mate Jens Pahlke to the league promoted Stahl Brandenburg. But Pahlke of all people initially became the fiercest competitor for Demuth for a place in the defense. On the 9th matchday of the 1984/85 season, October 27, 1984, Demuth came to his first league use in the game forward Frankfurt - steel (1: 1), when he was substituted in the 68th for Pahlke. Only in the second half of the season was the 1.73 m tall Demuth able to fight for a regular place in the Brandenburg defense, where he sometimes stood on the field with sometimes without Pahlke. In the following season, both Pahlke and Demuth had finally become regular players with 25 and 23 stakes respectively. In 1986 Demuth played three of the four UEFA Cup games for Brandenburg. While Pahlke left Stahl Brandenburg in 1989, Demuth remained a fixture in the team until 1990. In the last round of the GDR Oberliga in 1990/91 he only made eight appearances due to a serious injury, and then in the 1991/92 season in the 2nd Bundesliga with 25 of the 32 point games he was part of the regular staff again, but without a goal achieve.

After the relegation of Brandenburg from the 2nd division, Demuth played for the Havelstädter from 1992 to 1994 in 58 games in the northern relay of the NOFV-Oberliga and scored one goal. With the BSV Brandenburg he failed in the summer of 1994 at FSV Zwickau in the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga. In the seasons 1994/95 (Regionalliga) and 1995/96 (Oberliga) he completed 34 and 25 point games for BSV and scored a total of three goals. In 1996/97 he was for one season with Optik Rathenow in the amateur league (23 point games, 6 hits), and then played for eight years at 1. FC Lok Stendal . He first started in the regional league (3rd division), but when he left Stendal in 2005, the team had meanwhile been relegated to the association league (5th division). Then Demuth was until 2008 at FSV Havelberg, with whom he played in the state class Saxony-Anhalt, after relegation in the regional league (8th division). In 2008, Demuth, now 45 years old, moved to Post SV Stendal, where he was still active in the national class despite his age.
