Silvio Schröter (born June 29, 1979 in Radebeul ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Schröter grew up in Radeburg and attended the Heinrich Zille School there. He played with Traktor Radeburg until 1989 and then with Dynamo Dresden . In 1997 he switched from the amateurs to the professional team.

In 2001 Schröter's Bundesliga career began at Energie Cottbus . In 2002 he was named “Energy Player of the Year”. After the Lusatians were relegated from the 1st Bundesliga, Schröter moved to Hannover 96 in 2003 . Before moving to Hannover 96, he suffered a cruciate ligament rupture that put him out of action for six months. In the successful first half of 2004/2005 Schröter was one of the top performers in Hanover. In January 2008, Silvio Schröter moved to the first division club MSV Duisburg . There he was only used three times due to an injury and after the club was relegated to the second division he was no longer given a contract with the Zebras. After Schröter kept fit in winter preparation for the second half of the 2008/09 season at Arminia Bielefeld , he moved to third division club FC Carl Zeiss Jena in February 2009 , but only stayed there until the summer and then ended his career.
