Nahrstedt is a district of the district town of Stendal in Saxony-Anhalt (Germany).

geography

The district of Nahrstedt in the southeast of the Altmark is located on the upper Uchte at an average altitude of 35 meters above sea level and about twelve kilometers west of the Hanseatic city of Stendal. The terrain around the Nahrstedt district is slightly hilly and gradually rises by around 15 meters north and south of the Uchte.

history

In 1209 Nahrstedt was first mentioned in a document.

On September 30, 1928, the Nahrstedt estate was united with the rural community of Nahrstedt. The Nahrstedt manor existed until the expropriation in 1945, which was last owned by the Barons von Cramm .

Up until December 31, 2009, Nahrstedt was an independent municipality.

By means of an area change agreement, the local council of the Nahrstedt community decided on June 25, 2009 that the Nahrstedt community should be incorporated into the Hanseatic city of Stendal. This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on January 1, 2010.

After the incorporation of the previously independent community of Nahrstedt, Nahrstedt became part of the Hanseatic city of Stendal. For the incorporated municipality, the local constitution was introduced according to §§ 86 ff. Of the municipality code of Saxony-Anhalt . The incorporated community of Nahrstedt and the future district of Nahrstedt became the locality of the receiving Hanseatic city of Stendal. A local council with five members including the local mayor was formed in the incorporated community and now in Nahrstedt.
