Welle belongs to the village of Dahlen is a district of the district town of Stendal in Saxony-Anhalt .

The church village is located south of Dahlen and Stendal in the Altmark .

history

The first documentary mention of the place as Villa Welle dates from the year 1151. Welle initially consisted of the two districts Deutsch-Welle and Wendisch-Welle, in which Germans and Wenden dominated. The second district was first mentioned in 1357 as Dudeschen ville .

The Gutskirche Welle was built in the second half of the 12th century . The place gained a certain importance with the establishment of the Bismarck property at the end of the 18th century. On September 30, 1928, the manor district of Welle was combined with the rural community of Welle.

The manor complex, especially the manor house built in 1820, has been preserved and at times served as the headquarters of the von Bismarck-Briest family. A garden festival is regularly held on the estate today .

On July 1, 1973 the community of Welle was incorporated into the community of Dahlen. Since September 1, 2010, the Welle district has been part of the newly formed village of Dahlen and the city of Stendal.
