Silvio de Capitani

Silvio Bruno de Capitani-Hochstrasser (born July 30, 1925 in Zurich ; † February 17, 2013 there ; entitled to live in Zurich and Vezia ) was a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

Family and work

Silvio de Capitani, son of architect Hans de Capitani, 1946 acquired the teacher's certificate at the seminar Küsnacht in Küsnacht in canton Zurich . After he finished studying to 1951 law at the University of Zurich in 1952 took place its graduation to the Dr. iur. Silvio de Capitani was subsequently employed as a commercial lawyer.

Silvio de Capitani married Margit nee Hochstrasser in 1954. He died in February 2013 at the age of 88.

Political career

Silvio de Capitani, who joined the Liberal Democratic Party , was elected to the Zurich Cantonal Council in 1975 , in which he sat until 1979. In the same year he was elected to the National Council , from which he resigned in 1983. He was a member of the Pestalozzigesellschaft Zurich and, from 1987 to 1995, of the Swiss Federal Banking Commission , of which he has been President since 1992. He also held various board memberships , including the Neue Zürcher Zeitung .
