Simha Pratt

Simha Pratt ( Hebrew שמחה פראט; * November 26, 1916 in Rivne ; † January 1, 2003 or August 2002 ) was an Israeli diplomat .

Life

Simha Pratt married Malca Rokach. He studied at the University of Basel and in 1926 came to the area of ​​the League of Nations Mandate for Palestine . He then studied until 1934 at the University of London Law and received admission to the bar in the UK. Until 1953 he practiced the profession of lawyer in Tel Aviv , then he entered the foreign service.

From 1953 to 1956 he was Consul General in Chicago . In 1956 he was counselor in Moscow . From 1957 to 1961 he was a representative of the Israeli government at the UN headquarters and consul general in New York City . From 1961 to September 1963 he was Consul General and Ministre plénipotentiaire in Pretoria .

In March 1964 he presented his letter of accreditation in Mexico City , where he served as ambassador until 1964. In 1966 he headed the Commonwealth of Nations division at the State Department. In June 1967 he presented his letter of accreditation to Richard Casey, Baron Casey in Canberra, where he served as ambassador until 1970. During this time he was also accredited by the governments of Wellington , New Zealand and Suva , Fiji .
