Simon Andersson (born May 10, 1991 ) is a Swedish cross-country skier .

Career

Andersson achieved his first top 10 placement in the Scandinavian Cup in January 2014 with tenth place over 15 km freestyle in Piteå . In February 2014 he achieved two more top 10 results with seventh place over 15 km freestyle in Madona and sixth place in the 20 km mass start race in classic technique in Otepää . In March of the same year Andersson made his debut in the cross-country skiing world cup in Lahti , where he finished 61st in the sprint and 59th place in the 15 km freestyle. After a fourth place at the Scandinavian Cup in Lillehammer over 30 km classic mass start in December 2014, Andersson started in January 2015 at the Tour de Ski 2015 . There he took twelfth place on the third stage in Val Müstair , which was held as a sprint , with which he scored his first World Cup points. He achieved further points in this stage race with rank 20 on the 15 km mass start stage in the classic technique in Val di Fiemme and with the 30th fastest time on the final mountain pursuit; In the overall ranking of the Tour de Ski, Andersson was ranked 26th. At the end of January 2015, he reached 27th place in the Rybinsk sprint, scoring points in an individual race in the World Cup. After finishing 26th at the Nordic Opening in Ruka at the beginning of the 2015/16 season, he finished 33rd at the Tour de Ski 2016 and 29th at the Ski Tour Canada . At the beginning of February 2017 he became Swedish champion with the relay and third over 15 km classic.
