Simon Demetz (born March 15, 1966 ) is a former Italian biathlete .

At the end of the 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s, Simon Demetz belonged to a generation of Italian biathletes who helped shape the world's elite in this sport. He played his first international championship at the 1987 Biathlon World Championships in Lake Placid , where he was 22nd of the individual. In 1989 he finished in Feistritz together with Werner Kiem , Wilfried Pallhuber and Hubert Leitgeb as fourth place in the team competition and missed a medal for a rank. Two years later he won the title in this competition with Hubert Leitgeb, Gottlieb Taschler and Wilfried Pallhuber in Lahti . At the opening ceremony of the Biathlon World Championships 2007 in Antholz , he carried the flag into the stadium with his former teammates Werner Kiem, Hubert Leitgeb, Wilfried Pallhuber, Johann Passler and Andreas Zingerle .
