Simon Lechleitner (born May 5, 1979 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian (mountain) runner with, among other things, several international appearances at mountain running world and European championships. He is state champion half marathon (2015).

Career

Simon Lechleitner came to running relatively late - it wasn't until 2005, when he was 26, that he ran his first race out of a bet, and that was the half-marathon distance. From then on, the running fever never let go of him and he discovered his talent and passion for running. He has been working for the Running Performance Center Tirol (LLZ Tirol) since October 2007 .

As a result, the name Lechleitner quickly became a household name in the running scene. In 2009 he was third on the podium at the Austrian Cross Country Championships - but this was not to be his last podium place.

In 2009, Simon started for the first time in the mountain running world championships (36th place). By 2013 he was able to represent the Austrian colors nine times in a row at mountain running world or European championships.

At the Vienna City Marathon in April 2015 he finished twelfth as the best Austrian. In August he became national champion half marathon in Velden am Wörther See.

At the 2017 Mountain Running World Championships in Premana (Italy), he finished 27th as the best Austrian.
