Simon Ntamwana

Simon Ntamwana (born June 3, 1946 in Mukenke , Burundi ) is Archbishop of Gitega .

Life

The Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , Cardinal Agnelo Rossi , ordained him a priest on March 24, 1974 . John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Bujumbura on November 14, 1988 .

The episcopal ordination donated him the cardinal prefect of the Congregation for Bishops and president of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America , Bernardin Cardinal Gantin , on 5 February of the next year; Co- consecrators were Michel Ntuyahaga , Old Bishop of Bujumbura, and Roger Mpungu , Bishop of Muyinga .

The Pope appointed him Archbishop of Gitega on January 24, 1997 .
