Simona Hösl (born June 11, 1992 in Berchtesgaden ) is a former German ski racer . She specialized in the technical disciplines of slalom and giant slalom .
biography
Simona Hösl started in FIS races in winter 2007/08 . She celebrated her first victory on January 13, 2008 in the slalom of the Bavarian Championships on the Großer Arber . Shortly afterwards she started in the European Cup for the first time . Further appearances in this racing series followed from January 2009. She made her first international appearance at the 2010 Junior World Championship in Les Planards , where she came fourth in slalom. A year later, she achieved sixth place in this discipline at the 2011 Junior World Championships in Crans-Montana .
On February 26, 2010, Hösl became German youth champion in giant slalom. Two weeks earlier she had won her first European Cup points. In winter 2010/11 she played her first full European Cup season. She quickly caught up with the top and achieved six podium places, including a win on March 11, 2011 in the slalom of La Molina , fourth place in the overall and giant slalom rankings and seventh place in the slalom rankings. On December 29, 2010, she contested her first World Cup race with the Slalom of Semmering , in which she was eliminated in the first round.
Hösl has been part of the customs ski team at the Federal Customs Administration since 2011 . She achieved second place in the giant slalom classification in the 2011/12 European Cup season and, as in the previous year, fourth place in the overall ranking. On December 16, 2012, she won her first World Cup points in her eleventh World Cup race, the giant slalom in Courchevel , finishing in 20th place. This was also her best result; overall she could only classify herself three more times in the points. After being removed from the ski association's performance squad , she announced her resignation in July 2016.
