Simone Renth-Queins (born March 25, 1973 in Ingelheim am Rhein ) from the Rheinhessen wine-growing region was elected the 51st German Wine Queen in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse in September 1999 as the successor to Susanne Völker from Oppenheim .

education

Simone Renth grew up in Schwabenheim an der Selz , where her parents run a winery with an ostrich farm. From 1989 to 1992 she completed an apprenticeship as a winemaker, which was followed by attending a technical college . She then began studying viticulture and oenology at the Geisenheim University of Applied Sciences (today Geisenheim University ), which she completed with the academic degree of Diplom-Ingenieur (FH). After graduating, she did a six-month internship at the Bodega Bellavista (now Vicente Aresti) in Chile.

From September 1998 she was the regional wine queen in Rheinhessen until she was elected 51st German wine queen in September 1999.

Further life

In addition to working in his parents' winery, Renth worked as a ring consultant for the Osthofen wine ring and from 2000 to 2003 as a consultant for "Wein vom Roten Hang " in Nierstein . Today she conducts wine moderation as an independent consultant and leads wine events and wine seminars for the German Wine Institute and the Competence Center for Wine Market and Wine Marketing Rhineland-Palatinate at DLR Rheinhessen-Nahe-Hunsrück and Rheinhessenwein e. V through. From 2001 to 2016 Renth-Queins was a board member of the Association of German Oenologists.
