Sisto Badalocchio
Sisto Rosa (actually Badalocchio ; * around 1585 in Parma , † 1647 in Rome ) was an Italian painter .
Rosa was a student of Annibale Carracci and a friend of Giovanni Lanfranco . His paintings (on Reggio , Gualtieri , Parma etc.) are kept in an academic manner, his engravings treated in Lanfranco's taste. Together with the latter, he etched the biblical depictions of Raphael in the Vatican (Rome 1607, 23 sheets), six sheets after Antonio da Correggio's frescoes in Parma Cathedral, the four evangelists after Raphael, Amor and Pan after Agostino Carracci , the group of the Laocoon et al
