Sitora Hamidova ( Cyrillic Ситора Ҳамидова , sometimes [written via Russian Хамидова ] Khamidova ; born May 12, 1989 in Termiz , Uzbek SSR , Soviet Union ) is an Uzbek long-distance runner .

Career

Sitora Hamidova gained her first international experience at the Dushanbe Half Marathon 2011, in which she finished third in 1:15:12 h. The following year she took part in the 2012 World Half Marathon Championships in Kawarna , where she reached 53rd place. In 2013, she took part in the 10,000-meter run at the Asian Championships in Pune , where she finished fifth in 33: 59.87 minutes At the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea in 2014, she was fourth in 32: 12.54 minutes. In 2015, she qualified in the marathon for the World Championships in Beijing , where she could not finish her race . In 2016 she was 54th in this discipline at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . She also took part in the games over 10,000 meters and was there with a new national record of 31: 57.77 min 24.

In 2017 she finished third again in the Dushanbe Half Marathon and finished 18th over 10,000 meters at the World Championships in London . In 2018 she took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time and finished eighth over 5000 and 10,000 meters. At the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha , she could not finish the marathon race.

In 2014 Hamidova became the Uzbek champion in the 5000 meter run . She completed a coaching degree at Termez State University .
