Slavomir Miklovš

Slavomir Miklovš (born May 16, 1934 in Đurđevo ( Batschka ), Yugoslavia , today Serbia ; † July 21, 2011 in Novi Sad , Serbia) was bishop of the Greek Catholic diocese of Križevci .

Life

Slavimor Miklovš comes from a Ruthenian family. He successfully attended the classical grammar schools in Rijeka and Pazin and then studied theology in Zagreb . He was ordained a priest on July 7, 1964 in his native Đurđevo . There he worked as a chaplain from 1964 to 1968 .

In 1968/69 he then worked as a pastor in Đurđevo. From there he was appointed head of the Episcopal Chancellery of the Diocese of Križevci. Also since 1969 Miklovš was also the pastor of the Greek-Catholic priestly candidates in the seminary , later on the regens of the Greek-Catholic theological convention. In 1974 he also became an economist of the Križevci diocese, that is, he was responsible for the ecclesiastical financial management.

He held these offices until 1983, when he was appointed Bishop of Križevci on January 22nd. The episcopal ordination took place on March 25, 1983 by Archbishop Miroslav Stefan Marusyn , Secretary of the Congregation for the Eastern Churches . On May 21, 1983, he took up his office as bishop. On May 25, 2009 Pope Benedict XVI. Miklovš 'resignation from the office of Bishop of Križevci, submitted for reasons of age.
