The Smedfjella ( Norwegian for Blacksmith Mountains ) is a large mountain range in Queen Maud Land, East Antarctica . It is located in the center of the Sør Rondane Mountains and consists of the Gjelsida , the Nordryggane , the Walnumfjella , the Glitrefjella , the Korkfjella and the Skirfjella .

Scientists at the Norwegian Polar Institute named it in 2017, inspired by the two mountains Storsmeden (Norwegian for large blacksmith ) and Veslesmeden (Norwegian for small blacksmith ) in the Norwegian Rondane National Park .
