Snafu was a British rock band from the 1970s. She combined British rhythm and blues with American west coast and country rock .

history

Snafu was formed by Bobby Harrison in 1967 with the first line-up of Procol Harum and Micky Moody , guitarist for Juicy Lucy , along with Terry Popple, former drummer for Van Morrison , Colin Gibson, bassist for Ginger Baker's Air Force and keyboardist Pete Solley in the fall Founded in 1972.

They recorded their first album SNAFU in Richard Branson's The Manor Studio at the same time that the then unknown Mike Oldfield was working there on Tubular Bells . After recording their second album, Situation Normal, with a distinct country influence , they toured the US as the opening act for Emerson, Lake and Palmer . In hindsight, however, this was viewed as a mistake.

During the recording of the third album All Funked Up , Pete Solley left the band to join Procol Harum. He was replaced by Brian Chatton and shortly thereafter by Tim Hinkley. Micky Moody switched to David Coverdale and after a brief stint by Clem Clempson , the band broke up.
