The Socialist Party of Great Britain (SPGB) is the oldest socialist party in Great Britain . It represents a revolutionary, anti- Leninist Marxism . The party emerged in 1904 as a split from the Social Democratic Federation (SDF) . Since 1904 the party publishes the newspaper Socialist Standard , which was banned during the First World War . The party was an early English publisher of Karl Kautsky's books .

The SPGB has participated in British general elections since 1945 , but only in a handful of constituencies each time.

In 2014 the party took part in the UK European elections in the regions of Wales and South East England. She was able to qualify for broadcasting election commercials. It received 1,384 votes (0.19%) in Wales and 5454 votes (0.23%) in South East England. That was by far not enough for a seat in the European Parliament.

In the 2019 general election, the Socialist Party of Great Britain achieved the worst result of all 58 parties that had run for election with 157 votes.
