Sokodé is a city in Togo and the capital of the Centrale region . With a population of around 107,700 (2019 estimate), it is the second largest in the country. Sokodé lies between the Mo and Mono rivers . The city is the most important transhipment point for its agricultural area. Sokodé has been a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network since 2017 .
Ethnically the city lies in the settlement area of the Kotokoli .
Sokodé is the seat of the Roman Catholic diocese of Sokodé , which has existed since 1955 and which arose from an Apostolic Prefecture that had existed since 1937 . The main church is the Sainte Thérèse cathedral .
The city's landmark is the Great Old Mosque. Sokodé is home to the AC Semassi FC football club .
