Sokoliwka ( Ukrainian Соколівка ; Russian Соколовка Sokolowka , Polish Sokołówka ) is a village in the Ukrainian Oblast Ivano-Frankivsk with about 2200 inhabitants (2001).
The village, first mentioned in writing in 1630 (in the history of towns and villages of the Ukrainian SSR , the second half of the 14th century is mentioned as the first date) is the only village in the 16.912 km² district council of the same name in the center of Kosiv district .
The village is located in the Carpathian Forest in the east of the historical Galicia at an altitude of 450 m on the bank of the Rybnytsya ( Рибниця ), a 56 km long left tributary of the Prut , 7 km southwest of the Kosiv district center and 96 km south of the Ivano- Oblast Frankivsk .
The regional road P-24 runs through the village .
A monument of architecture in the village is the wooden church Church of the Holy Spirit of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, built in 1876 . In Sokoliwka, among other things, embroidery , wood carving and cattle breeding are practiced .
