The Solgraben is a 2-kilometer-long right branch of the Helme below the Kelbra dam in the Mansfeld-Südharz district of Saxony-Anhalt .
course
The Solgraben is created northwest of the center of Kelbra , by draining out of the Kelbra dam. It flows in an easterly or northeastern direction. After about 2/3 of the flow, it crosses under the Bundesstraße 85 , known as Nordhäuser Straße, and flows back into the Helme. Its banks are mainly secured by concrete slabs, which prevent natural meandering. This makes the Solgraben look rather unnatural.
