Solomon Amanchukwu Amatu (born December 17, 1950 in Ukpo , Anambra state , Nigeria ) is Bishop of Okigwe .

Life

Solomon Amanchukwu Amatu was ordained a priest on October 7, 1978 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Sabrata and auxiliary bishop in Awka on December 22, 2000 . He received his episcopal ordination from the Apostolic Nuncio in Nigeria , Osvaldo Padilla , on April 28, 2001; Co- consecrators were Albert Kanene Obiefuna , Archbishop of Onitsha , and Simon Akwali Okafor , Bishop of Awka .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on May 28, 2005 Coadjutor Bishop of Okigwe. After the resignation of Anthony Ekezia Ilonus he followed this on 22 April 2006 at the office of the Bishop of Okigwe after.
