Solomon Wariso

Solomon Wariso (* 11. November 1966 in Portsmouth ) is a former British athlete who on the Sprint specialized.

Life

Wariso took part in the 200-meter run in the indoor world championships in 1993 , but did not reach the finals. In 1994 he became British champion. Shortly before the European Championships in Helsinki, however, he tested positive for ephedrine and banned for three months for doping . In 1995 Wariso took part in the World Indoor Championships in Barcelona and the World Championships in Gothenburg without making it to the final.

In the further course of his sports career, Wariso concentrated on the 400-meter route . At the British Championships in 1998 he was third and was preferred to Roger Black in the nomination for the European Championships . In Budapest he reached sixth place, but was disqualified for leaving the track. In the run-up he also belonged to the British 4 x 400 meter relay . But because he ran the slowest lap, he was not used in the final, in which his teammates were European champions. At the Commonwealth Games in the same year he was again a member of the relay and won the silver medal.

Wariso celebrated his greatest success in 1999 when he won the bronze medal in a new British record time with the British relay team ( Allyn Condon , Solomon Wariso, Adrian Patrick , Jamie Baulch ) at the World Indoor Championships . In the outdoor season he was British runner-up, but at the World Championships in Seville he was eliminated in the preliminary run.
