Additional contents of the collection include scanned covers of the Sonic Comics by Archie Comics , any artwork, both cutscenes from Sonic the Hedgehog CD , a video about the history of the franchise and a making-of video for Sonic Heroes .

New releases and successors

The Sonic Mega Collection Plus was also part of 2 in 1 Combo Pack: Sonic Mega Collection Plus / Super Monkey Ball Deluxe (2005, Xbox), Sega Fun Pack: Sonic Mega Collection Plus & Shadow the Hedgehog (2009, PlayStation 2) and Sonic PC Collection (2009, PC).

The Sonic Gems Collection , which was released in 2005 for the GameCube and PlayStation 2, contained nine other Sonic games that were not included on Sonic Mega Collection or Sonic Mega Collection Plus . Another game collection exclusively focused on Sonic games was the Sonic Classic Collection released in 2010 for the Nintendo DS .

reception

Sonic Mega Collection Plus was generally rated very positively and sold around 2.3 million times on the PlayStation 2 alone, while the sales figures for the Xbox version are unknown, but must be less than 1 million.
