Soraya Homam (born December 11, 1961 in St. Ingbert ; † August 21, 2011 ) was a professional German - Iranian poker player . She was the sister of the Hamburg celebrity make-up artist Reza Homam . Her nickname in the poker scene was Bibidel ( Persian بى بى دل, in German: Herzdame).

biography

Homam grew up in the Westerwald and learned the profession of midwife there . She discovered her enthusiasm for games with a strategic background at the age of 13 when she joined the chess working group of her school and later won several chess tournaments. She then worked as a chess trainer.

She had her first encounter with the game of poker in the early 1990s; The parallel to the game of chess was one of the motivations for her to pursue a professional career as a poker player.
