Souday is a former commune in the Loir-et-Cher in the region Center-Val de Loire . It belonged to the Arrondissement of Vendôme , the canton of Le Perche and was a member of the Collines du Perche commune . The inhabitants are called Soudaysiens . Souday is the capital of the municipality of Couëtron-au-Perche .
1 January 2018 were Arville , Oigny , Saint-Agil , Saint-Avit and Souday to the municipality ( commune nouvelle ) Couëtron-au-Perche together. Souday is the main town and a commune déléguée with 503 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the new municipality.

Souday is located in the north of the Loir-et-Cher department, about 60 kilometers southwest of Chartres and 60 kilometers east of Le Mans .
