The Sparkasse Düren is a public savings bank with headquarters in Düren .
history
The Sparkasse Düren was created on November 1st, 2000 through a merger of the Stadtsparkasse Düren and the Kreissparkasse Düren.
The forerunner of the Stadtsparkasse Düren was the “Stadt Dürener Pawn Shop with Sparkasse”, founded on April 16, 1832 in Düren and based in the houses at the wooden gate. The Stadtsparkasse Düren existed until October 31, 2000. Most recently, it had its business premises in the current citizens' office on the market square in Düren, the former location of the pre-war town hall.
In the course of the municipal reorganization in North Rhine-Westphalia , the Kreissparkasse was already involved in a merger. As a result of the merger of the previously separate districts of Düren and Jülich through the Aachen Act , which came into force on January 1, 1972 , the former Düren and Jülich district savings banks merged to form the Düren district savings bank on January 1, 1974 .
The Sparkasse Düren has had its main office (“customer center”) in Düren, on the corner of Schenkelstrasse and Zehnthofstrasse , since November 1, 2000 . This building was inaugurated on February 9, 1954 and was used by the Kreissparkasse Düren from this point in time until the merger in 2000.

The business area includes the Düren district including the former Jülich district . The savings bank is represented in all 15 municipalities in the district between Titz in the north and Heimbach in the south.
