The Sparkasse Gütersloh-Rietberg is a public-law savings bank based in the East Westphalian district town of Gütersloh . The Sparkasse Gütersloh-Rietberg is run by the Sparkasse Association of the City of Gütersloh, the District of Gütersloh and the City of Rietberg .

history

The savings bank was founded on February 16, 1863. After just one year they managed 86,302 dollars to 189 passbooks . In 1876, the bank provided the 5,000. Passbook off. In 1877 the Sparkasse moved from the GW Köhne company building to what was then Gütersloh's town hall on Berliner Straße, and in 1907 to the Vossieck building on Bahnhofstraße (today Eickhoffstraße). In 1913 she moved into a new building on Schulstrasse, which has been the seat of the German Stroke Foundation since 2016 . In 1937 the company moved to Strengerstrasse. A new building for 10 million D-Marks was built there in 1973 in the direct vicinity of the town hall, which was supplemented in 1994 by a further part of the building on the corner plot of Strengerstrasse / Eickhoffstrasse.

Before the currency reform in 1948 , the Sparkasse had deposits of 80 million Reichsmarks in 32,700 savings accounts, after the changeover 3.5 million D-Marks to 15,600 savings accounts. By 1959, thanks to the economic miracle , the stock had grown to 40 million Deutschmarks. In 1960 the Sparkasse opened its first branch on Diekstrasse in Kattenstroth .

As a result of the Bielefeld Act , which led to a local reorganization of the surrounding communities, the Sparkasse Bielefeld transferred its branch in Isselhorst , the Sparkasse Warendorf five branches in Harsewinkel and the Kreissparkasse Wiedenbrück four branches to the Sparkasse Gütersloh.

On November 29, 2016, the Zweckverband confirmed the merger of Sparkasse Gütersloh with Sparkasse Rietberg. The legal merger took place on January 1, 2017, the databases of the individual banks were merged with the completion of the technical merger on August 21, 2017.
