Jonas A. Hughston

Jonas Abbott Hughston (* 1808 in Sidney , New York ; † November 10, 1862 in Shanghai , China ) was an American lawyer and politician . Between 1855 and 1857 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Jonas Abbott Hughston was born in Sidney, Delaware County , about four years before the outbreak of the British-American War . He completed his preliminary studies. Then he studied law . He was admitted to the bar in 1839 and then began practicing in Delhi . Between 1842 and 1845 he was a district attorney in Delaware County. Then he went back to his activity as a lawyer.
